The Northline should work for everyone, including people who use assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across this website.
What we have done
- Every page starts with a Skip to content link and uses headings in order.
- Text meets AA contrast ratios and can be resized up to 200 per cent without loss of content. Articles have a text-size control.
- All images carry text alternatives; illustrations are described.
- The site can be used with a keyboard alone, and focus is always visible.
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Times are shown in plain words as well as in machine-readable form.
Known limitations
Some older source documents we link to on other websites may not be accessible. If you need one in another format, ask us and we will help.
